Everything is never quite enough - Best Of Wrass 108
Finally, the collection of the “Best Of” of Wasis Diop
The traditional sounds of Senegal are combined with contemporary world music influences to create the smooth-edged global sound of one of the most respected of African musicians.
Wasis Diop came to prominence with the soundtrack to “Hyenes” and followed this with "African Dream", a top forty hit. The elegance and inherent seduction of his vocal made the album “No Sant”an almost common requirement of African music. He built on this success with the 1998 album “Toxu”, an album combining African rhythms with soul
and reggae, whilst collaborating with the World’s best from David Byrne and Amadou et Miriam on “Once In A Lifetime” to Wally Badarou and Beth Hirsch on “Everything..”(most notable as the theme song in Thomas Crown Affair).
